    1. [SASSER-L] Sasser family book
    2. Robert Earl Woodham
    3. Dear Cousins, The only "book" published so far on our family is titled "OF ONE DOZEN SASSERS". This is on the descendants of THOMAS SASSER Senior of Wayne County, North Carolina and Screven County, Georgia. His descendants are mainly in Georgia, Alabama and Florida but now scattered all over the country. The title is a misnomer. The author began doing research in the 1970's and I provided her with all the oldest information in her book. I asked her to give me more time before she printed the book because there was still a LOT of work to be done and many records I still hadn't checked yet that I knew existed. As it turned out, instead of 12 children, Thomas Sr. and his wife CLARISSA had 21 children [that's right, folks, 21 !!!]. Two of their daughters had a total of more than 40 children together [again--that's right more than 40 !!! between just two girls]. Altogether, he and Clarissa had AT LEAST 200 grandchildren !!!!! However, the book has nothing beyong Thomas Sr. because at the time, I could not prove anything beyond him. I have been gathering info and records for many years now and if I can live long enough, some day I will have a book for us on ALL the family. Be patient with me. Your cuz, Robert Earl Woodham

    3. Patti: We will be having a Sasser reunion on Sept 5-6 in Joseph Oregon. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you the low down. There will be Sasser's from Kentucky attending along with family members of Abraham & Margaret Hammack, William Henry Sasser and Mary Catherine Jones to name a few. There is a man in Wallowa County who is in the process of writing a book on the Sasser's. I do not know if he is including all or just those descended from Abraham and Margaret. It is called "Of One Dozen Sassers" and was compiled and edited by Claudia Chitwood Weller. Her last known address was 3615 Shamrock Court, Orlando, Florida. This book traces the family back to the mid 1700's in North Carolina and then down through Georgia from where they spread out all over the country it seems. Good luck in your search. Joel Sasser

    2. Greetings all, I figured I'd throw this out since everyone is always so helpful. It has come to my attention that one of my distant cousins, a SASSER of course, and a few others, may have some older photographs that I would luv to have copied and enhanced. Unfortunately, this "info" is a bit dated so I don't know if its still available. So of course, my question is; Does anyone know or maybe even related to the following individuals and could connect me with them or their heirs? 1) Mrs Juanetta J. Sasser of Camden, OH 2) Mr. Clayborne Moore of Barbourville, KY 3) Mrs. Nila H. Pickard of Barbourville, KY Hope to hear from someone soon, Thanks len taylor http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/t/a/y/Leonard--Taylor/
