    3. Hi Carol, In your post of Apr. 16 you wrote; >2 *John Sapp, Sr. 1725 - 1805 >............. +**Elizabeth Sanders 1729 - >.................... 3 *John Sapp, Jr. 1762 - 1851 >........................ +**__?__ King I have only recently started personally researching this family, but information that I have from other researchers indicate that John SAPP Sr. and John SAPP Jr. may have been one and the same man. They show John SAPP born in the 1760's and married to Elizabeth Sanders (Daughter of Nahum and Susannah Sanders) in about 1789. (Nahum's will in 1795 mentions son-in-law John SAPP, Susannah is on the 1810 census of Stokes Co. NC). I have John SAPP on the 1790 Stokes Census: 2 males over 16 and 1 female. I have Elizabeth SAPP as Head of Household in Stokes Co. 1800 Census: 4 males under 10 and 2 females 26-45. 1810 Census: 1 male 10-16, 1 female 16-26, 1 female 26-45 1820 Census: 1 male under 10, 1 female under 10, 1 female 26-45 Since Elizabeth appears in the 26-45 range each census, I would judge her date of birth to be about 1775. Other researchers have judged her birth to be no earlier than 1765. John SAPP apparently leaves wife Elizabeth Sanders in NC and travels to Franklin Co. GA (In 1804 "John SAPP of the County of Franklin and State of Georgia" sells the 100 acres in Stokes Co. NC which he had received in a grant from NC ) In the same year (1804) John SAPP and wife Elizabeth sell 109.5 acres in Franklin Co. GA. A witness was a Thomas KING. In one report, John SAPP apparently marries an Elizabeth King in GA (Possibly a sister of Elizabeth Sander's brother-in-law James KING). They have the following children in GA: Mary b. 1797 Benajah Johann b. abt 1801 Stratford Henry b. 1802 John and family move to Rhea Co. TN and have the following children: Hilliard b. 1811 Benjamin Harrison b. 1813 Elizabeth King SAPP dies shortly thereafter and John marries Winifred Anderson of Rhea Co. They have the following children: Middleton b. 1817 Eli b. 1819 Jasper Newton b. 1820 Barron DeCalb b. 1823 DeMarcus b. 1828 John and family then move to Blount Co. AL and then on the Shelby Co. TX. On the 1850 Shelby Co TX Census we find,: # 475 John SAPP age 86 Clockmaker Born 'North' Winnifred SAPP 60 N.C. Eli___ SAPP 18 AL Demarcus SAPP 20 AL #475 S.W.SAPP 48 GA Elizabeth SAPP 37 TN Mary E.
