    3. Hello again, Sapp cousins, George Sapp[SMTP:gsapp@pacbell.net], who sent me some great information, suggested that I post the my information about the Daniel Sapp family of Fleming Co., KY to the Sapp list. Hope that someone finds it useful and, if not, it will be archived for the future. Following is a census summary for Daniel. 16 Aug 1800 - appears on the Kentucky "Reconstructed Census" (from tax lists). Daniel Sapp 1810 - appears on the Fleming Co., KY Federal Census. 3 males under the age of 10; 1 male of 10 & under 16; 1 male of 45 & up (Daniel); 2 females under the age of 10; 1 female of 10 & under 16; 1 female of 26 & under 45 (wife-Barbary). 1820 - appears on the Fleming Co., KY Federal Census. 2 males, age 0 to 10; 1 male, 10 to 16; 1 male, 45 & up (Daniel); 2 females, age 0 to 10; 1 female, 10 to 16; 1 female, 45 & up (wife-Barbary). 1830 - appears on the Bath Co., KY Federal Census. 1 male, 5-10; 2 males, 15-20; 1 male, 60-70 (Daniel); 1 female under 5; 1 female, 5-10; 1 female, 10-15; 1 female, 20-30; 1 female, 30-40; 1 female, 50-60 (wife-Barbary). School will be out in 2 weeks (yea!) and I plan on spending summer vacation haunting courthouses, etc. I hope to find more on Daniel. As far as I can tell, he did not purchase any land in Fleming Co. (I haven't checked Mason Co., from which Fleming was formed in 1798.) His son, Isaac built quite a large estate. At one time, the area near where he lived was named Sapp, KY (now Battle Run). It even had its own post office. A Fleming Co. Bank published a calendar this year with a photo of the flour mill in Sapp, KY. I'll send what information I have about Daniel's descendants in another email. Elizabeth Smith esmith@montgomery.k12.ky.us
