    1. Research SAPP, George
    2. SAPP, George. b. 09- 1815/1819, OH. according to census. d.1891. m. Isabelle Haning (dau, of Moses Haning-Elizabeth McKinstry) 1843 Athens County, Ohio. I have census and birth records to support his family, but no documentation to establish who his parents were. No obituary,no will/probated records only land transfers after 1843. The Athens County Genealogical Society has no Sapp resources either. Based on his age we can approximate that he arrived in Athens County somwhere between 1835-1840. In 1840 there is a state census showing him residing in another household as a hired hand. Pl. of Residence: Athens County, Lodi twsp. Ohio. Bur'd: Burlingham Cemetary, Burlingham Ohio. Pl of Residence: Jefferson County Ohio, Athens County Ohio and finally Meigs County Ohio. (Pratts Fork, Shade,Hull and Pagetown,) Ohio areas. Parents: possibly the son of Lydia Sapp b.1792. Va. and ? Siblings: based on Census extraction from Ohio 1860 census. Sarah b.1821. James b.1813. George b. 1819. Thomas b. 1817. Of note are the following: James lists Lydia Sapp as living in the same household as his. James, Lydia, Sarah and George's family lived with-in a relatively short buggy ride of each other. Thomas moved a little further southwest into Meigs County but still with-in a days trip of the others. George bought land from Thomas Sapp approximately 5-10 years after he was married. This appears to be the best lead we have regarding the matter of George's parentage. Four reasearchers are stumped! We assume that we should begin searching in Jefferson and Knox County Ohio.
