    1. John of NC-GA-TN-AL-TX
    2. Seeking verification on some (or any) of the information concerning a John SAPP who is on the 1790 census of Stokes Co. NC. This is supposedly the John SAPP who married Elizabeth SANDERS. There are two males over 16 in the family. Is one John's father Benjamin or is it an adult son of John's by a previous marriage ? Does anyone know when Benjamin dies ? If there is a John Senr., does anyone know when he dies ? A John SAPP reportedly goes to GA and marries an Elizabeth KING. Anyone have any verification of this ? I have seen dates for the births of children by John and Elizabeth King. Does anyone know the source ? In examining census records, wills, court records, newspaper ads, etc. I have begun to formulate a somewhat different scenario than those presented by other researchers: I speculate that the John SAPP who traveled to GA was the son of the John SAPP who married Elizabeth SANDERS. That he was of a previous marriage and was the second male on the 1790 census. I think that John SAPP Senr. died between 1790 and 1800 and that Elizabeth SAPP on the 1800 census is a widow. I think that the majority of children enumerated on the 1800 Stokes census with Elizabeth SAPP are the children of the second adult female , not Elizabeth. (There is son evidence that James KING may have traveled to GA with John Jr. The second female could well be Elizabeth's sister, Mrs. KING) Only the one male is presumed to be the son of John Senr. and Elizabeth SANDERS. This would be the male over 10 who appears on the 1810 census. The second female 16-26 is unaccounted. I believe that the Elizabeth SAPP of the 1820 census is a totally different Elizabeth SAPP. Any help in supporting or destroying this scenario would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ted
