    3. I have both the CD's #3 & #226 Marriage CD's and I will do look-ups for a Sapp relative. I can't post them to the list, but I can send it to you privately. I have some small bits of info from a book called The Ga Black Book, listing of scoundrels, murderer's, thiefs and other relatives. If anyone has a copy or access to this, I would like a look-up. This is an excerpt from the book: in Burke Co., GA: Victim:Cato Plonging & Osten Johnson injury:killed shot dead Cause: homocide Attacker: E. Sapp (white) (I think this is Elam, see the next entry-Bill) Remarks: No arrest. bound over to appear before the Superior court under bond of $3000. Sapp lives near no. 1 station Ag & J RR, at large. ************************************************************************ no. 1714 Elam Sapp entered prison 07APR1859 Tattnall County ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------- Some of you know that Elam served in the Civil War, this is what I have on him.-Bill Collins, Robert Henry -- Private -- March 4, 1862. Transferred to Co. G, 47th Regiment Ga. Inf. May 12, 1862. Discharged, furnished Elam Sapp as substitute, September 1, 1862. Enlisted as a -- Private -- in Co. D, 6lst Regiment Ga. Inf. March 2, 1864. Captured near Petersburg, Va. March 25, 1865. Released at Point Lookout, Md. June 26, 1865. (Born in Georgia about 1840). (?-Bill) ************************************************************************ No. 831 Luke Sapp crime: simple Larceny (I believe this to be Luke Mercer, Jr., the age matches, but I have his first marriage in 1843.-Bill) sentence term:4years sentence date: 24DEC1840 term expires: 24DEC1844 County convicted: Bryan occupation:farmer Birthplace: Georgia age:23 height: 5ft 9in complexion: dark hair:dark eyes:dark remarks: pardoned 21DEC1844 ************************************************************************ persons sought who released Joseph Bell of Montgomery Co. (who has since been recaptured) who was being held for the murder of Matthew Sapp. Bell escaped from the McIntosh Co. Jail in Darien on the 6th and 7th ulto. It does not have Tattnall Co. It is an index listing for Wills, Marriage Contracts, Jury lists. Will be glad to look up a name, don't ask for ALL Sapps, the book is not indexed, but it is alphabetized by county.-Bill
