    3. Special to David Beasley -- David, it appears you may have succombed to the disease that has infected many of us who have gone before in over reliance on 'the easy way.' The internet and Broderbund has developed for more genealogical 'copyists' than researchers. I particularly found things in the Ancestral File that I thought were just wonderful and I had a pedigree overnight that would choke a horse. Unfortunately, it bore little resemblance to my ancestors. ANYTHING anyone gets out of WORLD FAMILY TREE, anything you get from anything associated with Broderbund, anything you get in the form of a ready-made d/b from this marvelous resource known as the internet, must be treated as no more than a mere rumor. Most (I will accept arguments on this word, but none other) of the people that put up their 'lines' here can't even spell documentation. Most of those don't seem to care, jsut as many submitters to AF don't. A few months ago I manned an exhibit across the aisle from Broderbund, having to listen to the nonsense, and sometimes outright distortions they were putting out. About a month ago, the director of the genealogy dept at Dallas Public Library wrote a column in the 'Dallas Morning News' saying all the above. Be patient, please, cousin. This is frequently a frustrating, but fascinating hobby. Tomake my point: Please document in any way that Henry SAPP of Kent MD is the father of Ben of 1730. I SUSPECT he may be. But I also suspect a couple of other guys named SAPP might be and I don't ahve a clue, and some people who are conservatively 10 times better at this than I am, have been unable to nail it down. Off the soapbox.... welcome to the clan. Joe -- For my family database go to http://www.123net.net/~jsissom
