Debbie Clark > > ==== SAPP Mailing List ==== > Submit your oldest Sapp ancestor (prefer before 1850) to: Sapp-L@rootsweb.com Debbie, I think your hypothesis is right about Noah Sapp being a nephew of Levi Sapp. I have been corresponding with Melody Byrd mkwtb@aol.com, and Lorene McClellan applegram@aol.com, about their ancestor Mathew Sapp of Boone Co, MO and Pike Co, IL. We speculate that Mathew was a son of Noah Sapp (he has a son of appropriate age in the 1830 and 1840 census', 3 years older than your Wm B, who is also in those census' of appropriate age). We also speculate that Noah was the son of Matthew in the 1830 Boone Co census (Matthew and Noah had adjoining farms there). It is interesting that both Matthew and Levi apparently are from DE. (Levi known born there; Noah, presumed son of Matthew, known born there from 1850 census). I haven't seen the 1820 KY census records yet, but I think both Matthew and Levi are there. Maybe someone out there has those census records to share. George Sapp
