Hi Guys, I just got the Progeny SAR Revolutionary War Graves Register CD, and I must say I am disappointed. I have most of the info, on my lines it only gives birth and death dates, and a few have the State and county where buried. If you have any names you want me to look up, just give me a yell.-Bill

If you guys haven't been getting much mail?, the West coast is being battered by storms, and a couple of the Rootsweb servers are running on E-power. They hope to keep everything running, but that is the reason for the slowdown. I just got mail I sent out 18 hrs. ago. El Nineo?-Bill

I am looking for a connection to Mary Ann Sapp Born in the mid-1800's in Flemingburg, Fleming Co. She married James Hampton - Their Daughter was Lucy Hannah Hampton Born 1884 in Maysville, KY
Are any of you guys using FO 6.0? Do you like it? Is it faster than FO 5.0? Anything you don't like about it? Have you used previous versions of FO? I am thinking about upgrading to 6.0, I have 5.0 now, but these guys have been known to slip up from time to time, like 3.2. Any comments appreciated.-Bill
I am looking for information on Daniel SAPP, Sr. who lived in Fleming Co., KY in the early 1800's. He was b.ca. 1760-65 in VA (according to daughter, Elizabeth's death record.) Daniel died 1830-1840 probably in Fleming Co., KY. His wife is thought to be Barbary -?-, b. ca. 1776, d. aft 1850. Children: Daniel, Jr., Peter , Jacob, Isaac (my ancestor), Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Joseph. A small community, named SAPP and complete with a post office, grew up near the Upper Blue Licks on the Licking River in Fleming Co. This area is now known as Battle Run. I wonder about the validity of the VA birthplace, since I have been unable to locate any SAPPs in VA during the late 1700's. But then, I remember the maxim, "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absense," so I guess I will just keep on looking.
Thought everyone would enjoy this.
Any one know anything about mid Missouri Sapps Richard McCraner SAPP is my primary intrest he was prob born in Illinois maybe Fayette Co. in 1858. He may have followed hiis wifes family from Fayette Co. Illinois (BECKS). But Illinois is all I know for sure. Rich

I just checked and they don't have our list archived at Roots-L as yet, it is a bad time to be doing those things, and they are running out of disk space, so they have ordered more. I will keep checking from time to time to see when the archive for Sapp-L is up. You all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from cheesehead country.-Go Pack! <:0)-Bill

It was an impressive affair. -----------------------------snipped---------------------------------------- ------ Hi Linday, that was very impressive. I don't know how I am linked to Levi, but I am sure that I am. All my ancestors come from the area surrounded by Burke, Emanual, Tattnall and Bulloch Co.'s. I believe this the area that most of the Sapps in the south "spread" from, most of mine stayed within about 100 sq. mile area. Of course, none of them could write, so we have no record of their links to all the other Sapps.<G> Just kidding. Most of my immediate relatives still live in that same area, so a lot of my blood is in that area. I am very proud of my Sapp heritage, it's nice to hear that others are also.-Bill ==== SAPP Mailing List ====
Hi guys, I leaned on my Win95 setup to hard and it fell on me. I am trying to get things back in some kind of order. Lost all my e-mail, months worth, and most of the Roots-L address. I am trying to get the address for the list owners utility right now. This is my second attempt to get Win95 going, in as many days, but it have spent a lot longer on it.-Bill ==== SAPP Mailing List ==== Take a look at your Sapp ancestors at: http://members.aol.com/sapps/genpg/index.html
1. I was just looking through the latest copy of The Family Tree, Dec97/Jan98, any Sapp researcher that is in the area of Moultrie, GA, The Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library, a MS Dorothy King of Moultrie gave a copy of Levi Sapp, Revolutionary Soldier - Descendants Through His Son, Jason and Jason's Son, Levi. They might have other Sapp info there also. The library is mostly a Scottish clan library, but collects all types of books/family history. They have a free (they appreciate stamp donations), U.S., bi-monthly magazine that you can subscribe to online at: <hugh.waters@lost.com> 2. Does anyone know anything about the "agricultural census"? I read about it in the magazine, above, but it didn't give any details. Would appreciate any info on the subject. Standard disclaimer: I don't work for The Ellen Payne Odom Genealogy Library, or receive any benefits from them. I just get their free magazine.-Bill ==== SAPP Mailing List ==== Search the Web for other Genealogical sites at:Cyndi's List - "The serious genealogist's starting place on the Web" http://www.oz.net/~cyndihow/sites.htm
