Hello SANFORD rooters: I haven't posted information on my line in a while. I hope some of the new subscribers can make a connection to my line of SANFORDs. My earliest known is Reden Israel SANFORD, b. c 1820 in GA. He married Margaret J. GIBSON in Marengo Co., AL in 1844 and they later moved to Mississippi. They had several sons, some of which moved on to LA and TX. You can find a complete list of names, dates and places on my web site: http://members.aol.com/sanfordepz I belive that the father of Reden was Jesse SANFORD. Jesse was born in NC c 1770. In 1830 he was living in Covington Co., AL. By 1840 he was in Marengo Co., AL. In 1850 he was in Lauderdale Co., MS. He was listed at age 80 and listed his occupation at as a "Hatter."
