    3. [The following is all from "Thomas Sanford," etc.; Carlton Sanford; 1911] Gershom Morehouse's (#159) son-in-law Ephraim Sanford (#206) was in the Royal Army during the revolution, and they fought opposite sides of the Battle of White Plains. This Ephraim repaired to England after the war, was granted a pension and lands in Canada. He drown in the St. Lawrence in 1806. His father was Ephraim (#63), who appears to have resided in Fairfield, CT all his life. The name is a common one in this family, with 20 or so in the index of the above work. The next two have more promise: Ezekiel Sanford (#61) (b. 1704, d. 1764) had a son Ephraim (#184, 1st cousin to the above Ephraim), but he was not part of the settlement of the estate in 1766. No other details are noted for Ephraim other than listing him as a child. This Ezekiel resided Stratford, CT. Ephraim (#229) was b. 1747, CT, was a Rev. War soldier, m. Julia Huff, d. 1836, Wayne, NY. It says he "removed from Luzerne Co., PA in 1793" and settled in Wayne, NY. At 12:52 AM 3/16/98 -0500, Bruce A.
