I have this note at the website. I would appreciate any input anyone would have on this before I update the site Thanks Sandie From: Researcher David McCarley Suggests that entries for the children of Caswell Polk Sanford born ca 1775-1778 possibly in NC, should be checked: Specifically, my great great grandfather,John Morgan Sanford, Sr was indeed the son of 2 CONT Caswell Sr., but it does not appear possible that the Mary listed could have been John's mother (nor does she appear to be the mother of the older members of Caswell's 17 or so Children), that is unless Caswell's first wife was also named Mary Caswell Sr., appears to 2 have been married twice. The Mary that shows up in later census records suggests that she was too young to have been the mother of Caswell's older children. I suspect he had two sets of children, and I have been unable to find anyone who can say with any degree of certainty where the first wife's children 2 and Mary's children begin. Any clarification welcomed. Census give age as 72 in 1850 Listed on the 1802 tax digest in Jefferson Co GA along with a Benjamin, John, Samuel and Thomas Sanford
