    3. Linda, I am very interested in the book you cited. What year was it published and does it by chance have a Library of Congress number? I'd guess it was published circa 1900-1910 since Tuttle, primarily a printer, seems to have gone out of business or been absorbed by another publisher (possibly Morehouse) after that. Does Ms. Ware's book cover any of Robert's ancestry? If so, it would be another interesting version of it that would be applicable to his brothers as well: Andrew and Thomas (my ancestor.) It might also shed some light on the status of Zachery Sanford who settled in Long Island and who some think may have been one of these brothers, although it is not really provable at this point. I believe the book you have is quite rare and possibly very important. I'd love to see it, of course, but really don't have the nerve to ask to borrow it. There are facsimile reprint publishers who will reproduce old, out of copyright rare books. This is one possible way you can share it at no cost to you (you might even make a buck or two) if you are so inclined. You asked about other Sanford/Sandford books. Are you familiar with "Thomas Sanford the Emigrant" by Carleton E. Sanford: Tuttle, Rutland VT (1911). It is now available as a facsimile reprint. It is a 1600+ pg. classic listing over 15,000 of Thomas Sanford's descendants to about 1900. It also has a preface by genealogist Charles A. Hoppin that is the most reliable source of info on the ancestry of these brothers that I know of. I also has an Appendix containing what the author found of the descendants of Thomas' brothers and other early Sanford settlers. Although the 2 volume set is expensive because of its size, it is available to members of this group at a significant discount for $125. I'd be happy to provide details for any who are interested. For others on the line, if you have a book similar to Linda's that deals with a Sanford/Sandford ancestry back to or near the first ancestor of the line to emigrate to America, I'd love to hear about it. Also any book you may have that covers a collateral line, but covers a Sanford branch through marriage, I'd sure like to know about it. I have compiled a bibliography of about 50 privately- and commercially-published works that cover my branch of the Sanford clan that I'd be happy to expand and share with anyone interested.
