I am interested in the ancestry and descendants of Thomas Sanford and his wife Dorcas --?--. They were living in Caldwell Township by 1770. The records might indicate that they were in Acquackadonk (31 spelling versions of that name found so far- one starts with an H). Their farmhouse has survived to the present, but is currently endangered by owners who want to tear it down. I am trying to add to the documented history of the property, particularly by finding out more about the family who built it. I am not a descendant, so I have little to go on with this family.
