    3. >From CES, page 1398: "NATHANIEL SANFORD (PIONEER) "NATHANIEL SANFORD, d. 1687, Hartford; m. Susannah _____. She and dau. Mary were baptized in Second Church of Hartford, June 11, 1671, and she was admitted to full communion June 17, 1671. Mr. Sanford was received July 28, 1679. On Nathaniel's death, widow m. John Buttolph of Wethersfield. Mr. Sanford was elected Chimney Viewer on north side in Hartford Feb. 16, 1656. He must have been 21 years of age and some years in the town. He may have been a relative of Thomas, Andrew, Robert and Zachary. June 16, 1687, inventory of his estate was taken and it was divided between widow and Mrs. Wilson by court order Oct. 14, 1687. (Hartford Notes, Book 1, p. 89). "Had one child. "Mary, m. Phineas Wilson, a merchant in Hartford." My apologies to all for misinformation previously communicated, it was based on an incomplete thought by the author expressed elsewhere. CES does repeatedly assert that Nathaniel is a close relative of Thomas, et al., but does not explicitly say that he is his brother.
