I'm new to the list so I figured I'd start with a line that has been stumping me for a while. My husband descends from a John SANFORD Jr., born 10 Feb 1810 in Lynn MA to John and Mary _____ SANFORD. John and Mary had 3 children born in Lynn MA according to the published VRs. -- Mary Jane b 10 Nov 1806 John -- see above George Jackson b 12 Aug 1812 The family evidently moved to the Roxbury area, although I don't know exactly when this occurred. Does anyone have access to the Roxbury MA records to see if John and Mary had any more children? I don't know when or where John and Mary died, either. John Jr. married Lucy Ann DAGER in Roxbury MA in 1834. Lucy was the daughter of Joseph and Martha (TUTTLE) DAGER of Lynn MA. John and Lucy moved to Worcester Co. MA, and John died in Framingham MA in 1863. Lucy survived him and moved back east to live (probably with family). She died in Point Shirley MA (now Winthrop) in 1892, but her body was shipped back to Framingham for burial. John and Lucy Ann had the following children, all born in Roxbury as far as I know: John [Francis?] b. ca 1836; m. Eliza Ann GREEN in Marlboro in 1859 -- our line George E. b. ca 1838; m. Susan E. GREEN in Framingham in 1872 Joseph W. b ca 1842 d. 1867 in Framingham MA Hannah b. ca 1843 d. 1856 in Framingham MA Ann b. 1846 John [Francis?] SANFORD was a carpenter. He moved around quite a bit but seems to have stayed in Worcester Co. MA. Eliza Ann died in 1887 in Wayland MA and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Cochituate MA in the same plot as her daughter Ida Louise (SANFORD) LAWTON and her father, Lewis GREEN. John [Francis?] survived her, but then he just disappears. Did he remarry? John [Francis] and Eliza Ann had the following children: Clara Maria ("Carrie") b. 1864; m. Frank E. WOODS 1884 in Natick MA George F. b. 1867 m/1 Ethel ____ m/2 Hattie ___; d. 1958, lived in Litchfield CT Ida Louise b. ca 1871; m. a Mr. LAWTON; d. 1911 Alice Minette I would love to know more about this family. I especially want to know what became of John [Francis] SANFORD after his wife died. A lot of what I know of this family is from vital records, family photos and letters, obituaries, and oral interviews with living relatives. But obviously there are gaps. This family isn't listed in the Thomas SANFORD book, which I checked personally. A friend checked the Pres. John SANFORD book and didn't find them there, either. But they had to have come from somewhere. <G> I appreciate any help you can give. Vickie Elam White
