Dear Paula, Alfred Sanford WOODRUFF #3700, b 27 Dec 1826 - d. 21 Feb 1900, was the Son of Mary (Polly) SANFORD WOODRUFF #1545, and Benjamin WOODRUFF. I am happy to say that Mary 'Polly' Sanford was an older sister of my great grandfather, Andrew SANFORD, of Steuben Co. NY. and later in Seneca Co. OH. Ggrandfather Andrew SANFORD owned a farm about two miles from where I was born on another farm there near Attica, Ohio. I have a great amount of SANFORD records, especially of the descendants of John SANFORD, and most of their children. Apparently your husband and I have 'common ancestors', who are John & Sarah (MILLER) SANFORD, of Long Pond, NJ. and Steuben Co. NY. He was born in 1774 at Newark, NJ. I would like very much to hear from you, and to see the 'direct line' of ancestry from your husband to our John SANFORD, of Steuben Co. NY.
