    3. I am attempting to trace the families of my g-grandparents & their children. If anyone finds any errors or has any additional information, I would be most happy to hear from you. Thank you for your time, help, & consideration. Henry JACKSON: b. abt. 1848; perhaps in West Hartepool, Durham, (but definately) England Oral family history says Henry JACKSON worked three years in the gold mines of Brazil to earn passage for his wife & children to the U.S. The Maverick County, Texas, Naturalization Index Records show his Declaratio of Intention was filed 13 Oct 1888. I figure the five year residency requirement put Henry in the U.S. about 1883. I further guess he worked in Brazil from abt. 1878 - 1882. Henry JACKSON's wife was Mary Emma (BLENKENSOP) JACKSON. She too was born in England, perhaps in Greatham, County, Durham. (I have a few clippings they kept from that area of the country.) >From the oral history I heard of Mary BLENKENSOP her children's voyage to the U.S., they had to stop in New Orleans for a bit because of a storm. They later landed in Texas. (Would anyone know where? Galevston? Corpus Christi?) The family finally settled in Eagle Pass/Wilder, Maverick County, Texas. I've heard stories that Henry JACKSON used to cross the International Bridge in Eagle Pass to get to work. Recently, I've come across a picture of Hannah & Otto GERLINE, & Harry & Anna (BONNET) JACKSON. The picture was taken in Texas. I'm not sure who these folks were to Henry, Mary, & the children. Children of Henry & Mary JACKSON: - (Mary) Hannah: born in England Her first name is unconfirmed. I've always heard her referred to as Hannah. m. Otto GERLINE They lived in Three Rivers, MI, & then Kalamazoo, MI children: George, Howard, maybe two daughters (May & Viola) - Alfred: born in England called Alf -- I don't know if he married - Annie (Jane?): born in Texas m. Judge John SANFORD An attorney who later (obviously) became a judge. He knew one John "Cactus Jack" GARNER, who was also an attorney & was to become FDRs first vice president. (Father says his mother, Dorothy, said she met Mr. GARNER while visiting the home of her sister & brother-in law.) possible children: John Richard, Henry Jackson, Elizabeth Ida, Susan Ellen - It is said John SANFORD's younger brother Roger lived with John & Annie after the SANFORD brothers' parents died. - Mamie: born in Texas m. William "The Scriv" SCRIVNER/ SCRIVENER. He had a ranch in Texas. I have letter, I believe written by one of Mamie's daugter-in-laws, which refers to Mother SCRIVNER. - Ernest: born in Texas I don't know if he married. - Dorothy: born in Eagle Pass or Wilder, Maverick County, Texas, 5 Dec 1885 m. Henry Edward QUINN 22 July 1909 in Three Rivers, MI, I think she was staying with Hannah & Otto at the time. Dorothy & Henry lived in NYS. Dorothy died 2 Apr 1958 & is buried at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, Otsego Co., NY children: Dorothy Mamie, Kathryn Jackson Henry Edward Rufus Jerome Peace, love, joy, Cher [email protected] 601 Stoneleigh Avenue Unit 612 Carmel, New York 10512-2404 U.S.A.
