Seeking any information on Col. Charles Ogburn SANFORD. Col. SANFORD was the namesake of Sanford, NC (founded abt. 1874). Very little is known about Col. SANFORD. He was apparently a surveyor at the time Sanford was founded, and may be buried in Savannah, GA, but not among others of the SANFORD surname. Any assistance will be appreciated. Alvis B.
