Good morning, Cousin Jim and Sanford cousins I'm used to talking with you about our Bartletts. Are we Sanford cousins, too? My Penelope Sanford married Haden Edwards, son of William of the Westmoreland Co area and moved with him to Bourbon Co. KY in 1785. Known children were Haden, Sanford, John Henry, Benjamin, Penelope Sanford, Elizabeth (m. John Chancellor Jr.--my line) George, Mary Polly, and Nancy. Penelope Sanford is reputed to have been born in England and to be a daughter of Humphrey Sanford and Elizabeth Jones and a granddaughter of Sir Humphrey Sanford. I am doubtful because I cannot find the names Humphrey or Jones in a single instance in any descendants of the family, and believe instead that Penelope belongs in the Westmoreland Sanford families.
