I have been putting off asking this question for a long time because I am relatively new and certainly unschooled in the arcane knowledge of genealogy on the net. My grandfather was Robert Stephen San(d)ford. He travelled from Louisiana to Arkansas in the 1870s and married my grandmother, Martha Edwin San(d)ford about 1877. He homesteaded land in Miller County, Arkansas and fathered three children (Adelia, George, and Alma) before his early death about 1885. He must have been in his early thirties when he died. He was buried at Rocky Mound Cemetery near Fouke, Arkansas, in an unmarked grave. I have a lot of information about his descendents but absolutely none about his ancestors. Helllp! Herman P.
