I noticed on 1-4EX the "key" words of Sanford-Illinois-Hiram-J.B.Armentrout, under History of Edgar co, IL. I am just beginning to check out some of the background on my Sanford connection. I am related to Phoebe Sanford, born 1793 in Delaware Co NY. I have a book Reed and Related Families-Peoria County Area (IL) that lists her father as William Sanford. She has a sister Currance that marries Simon Reed in 1816. Also a sister of Simon and my Samuel Reed Jr, Lucy, marries Albion Sanford. The book does not show his relationship but I am guessing he is Phebe and Currances brother or cousin. There are several Hiram's in the Reed line (as in Hiram Reed). The book also mentions M.A. Armentrout and J.R. Armentrout. Would this small block of Sanfords be related to your family? I would love to have more info if you have it on this line.
