My grandmother, Thelma Josephine Sanford, was born on a ranch in the Arbuckle mountains, December 12, 1903. She married William Benjamin "Willie" Smith in 1919 in Matagorda county, Texas. There is a story that she was Irish/Indian - Cherokee or Choctaw. She left no information about her parents or siblings. No one knows of any communication with her family.
