Page 10. Typed just as it appeared in the original newspaper including any/all typos James Sanford Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, No. 15, for James Sanford, 77. The former Hannah resident died Friday, Nov. 11, 1983, at his home in Langdon. The funeral was held in Langdon United Methodist Church with Rev. Elton Berg officiating. Mrs. Pauline Spenst Romfor sang " Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and " How Great Thou Art". Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Treleaven sang "Beyond the Sunset". A prayer service was held Monday evening; at the Brooks Funeral Chapel in Langdon. Interment was in the Hannah cemetery. Casket bearers were Dale Brown, Harley Brown, Gene Brown, Herbert Weston and Robert Myers. All his grandchildren and nephews were designated honorary bearers. Clyde James Sanford, best known as James, was born Jan. 8, 1906, in Minnesota. He was the son of Louis and Mary(Miller) Sanford, both now deceased. As a youth he came to the Hannah-Calvin vicinity with his parents. From 1957 until 1968 he lived in California and then at Hannah until 1979. Since then he had resided at Langdon. He and Myrtle Christine Weston were married Oct. 12, 1929, at Langdon. Their golden anniversary was the occasion for a large gathering at the Legion Hall in Hannah Oct. 13, 1979, when all their children were among the many relatives and friends attending. Mrs. Sanford survives along with a daughter, three sons, 14 grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Their children are Mrs. Frank ( Cheryl) Hogge of Danville, Calif., Russel Sanford, Langdon, Howard Sanford, Park River, and Orrin Sanford of Covina, Calif. Another son, Myles, predeceased his father. A brother and four sisters also survive. They are Louis Sanford, Kenosha, Wisc., Mrs. Alfred (Faye) Kenny, Tempa City, Calif., Mrs. Donald (Iris) Ewing, Baraboo, Wisc., and Virtue Sanford, Minneapolis.
