SANFORD3 (Thomas-1) was born on May 14, 1809 in Prince William County, Virginia.3,4 He was Shoemaker between 1850 and 1883 in Roadside, Rockingham County, Virginia.5,6 In 1867 the post office moved from Conrad's Store a mile or two to George Sanford's Shoemaker Shop and named "Roadside". He appeared on the census in 1880 in Rockingham County, Virginia.9 Noted as 70 years old.
