Please Note: There seems to be errors in the lineage of this family that apparently begins with the Thomas P. Sandford/Sanford/Samford entry. While I am not disputing that one or more of the 'Sanford' lines originally were 'Samford' nor that there was a Thomas P. San?ford that married Lavina Turbeville. However, there was a Thomas P. Sandford of VA that m. a Mary Rutledge and that also had a connection with SAMFORD in NC and SC and that fathered Hezekiah P. Sandford, probably in NC, who m. Priscilla Chambers and who fathered Henry Chambers Sanford and Lemuel J. Sanford in SC. Thomas P. and Mary Rutledge Sandford also were the parents of William Sandford, probably in NC, who married a Mary Chambers and who died c1838 in Pickens Co, SC. Other children of Thomas P. and Mary Rutledge Sandford were probably Agnes and Julia who were born in SC and who both also probably married into the same Chambers family as their two brothers, William and Hezekiah. These were the only four children of Thomas P. and Mary Rutledge Sandford.
