My SANFORDs definitely lived in Lorain, OH from around the 1890's on - I lived there myself for two years. They came in through MD, to VA, then WV, where my particular Sanford family, having five Methodist minister brothers, branched out "to spread the word". My grandfather apparently accompanied his father, a traveling minister, to Lorain. If you also had/have relatives in Lorain, I might be a little help to you. Please feel free to e-mail me.
