Surnames: ARCHER, BRIANT, LAWRENCE, MacCARTNEY, PARKHURST, SANFORD Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4FFBAIB/969 Message Board Post: My GGM, Trythenia SANFORD, b. abt. 1830 in NY (per census) or CT (per her death record), may have been part Cherokee as it is family legend that someone in the family was Cherokee and I keep seeing information about Sanfords who are Cherokee. Trythenia m. George E. LAWRENCE of Westchester County, NY and one of their sons, Eldemora LAWRENCE, left NJ and "went South" to live in about 1920. Where in the south is unknown. Trythenia's parents (per death record) were Joseph SANDFORD (note spelling) and Sarah unknown. Trythenia d. in 1880 and is buried in Irvington, NJ. The names Trythenia and Eldemora are so unusual that I am hoping someone will recognize them and write to me at bitahvn@goldrush.com.
