H. Sanford age 6 appears in the 1930 census as the son of Elmer A. Sanford Age 52 and Clara P. age 51 in Watertown NY ED 65 p 16. All born in NY, parents born in NY. Unfortunately I can't find an entry for Elmer in the 1880 census, on line at familysearch.com, so I can't find his father. There are four Elmer Sanfords born in NY in the 1880 census, none of which is a particularly good fit. The book referred to is probably a 1911 genealogy that contains the names of about 18000 sanford descendants. I also couldn't find any good fits there. Could be a reversed name, i.e. A. Elmer Sanford - very common in those days. A suggestion - put the name of the person you're looking for, when born and where he was in the title of future posts. "Sanford family tree" is not very distinctive in a group dedicated to Sanford genealogy :-)
