About two weeks ago I finished a scan of the 1850 census, and the only match I found was an "A" Sanford in Habersham Co. His parents were the ones in the subject line. I've since found that the Sanford family moved west just after the 1850 census was taken, and of the 8 siblings, Albert was the only one that descendents of the others have no information on. "My" Albert married in Harris Co, GA in 1854, but was not present in the 1850 census, so he moved there after 1850 (or just HID really well). I DO know that his wife was Elizabeth Ann Edwards, daughter of John H. & Nancy Edwards. The path that the rest of the family seemed to take runs farther north into Resaca, GA, where the oldest daughter settled, then into TN where J&J settled, into Franklin Co, AL where one bro died abt 1865 & one sister married, and finally into AR where the 5 remaining siblings (I believe) ended up. To make a long story a bit shorter, I've credited Albert as being the 2d of 8 children to Jesse & Jane, but have no proof; he was the only one that seems to match, and most things seem to fall in place. I guess until I have a DNA test done with a known descendent of J&J, I won't really know. I would LOVE to take a look at any information you have to see if it makes a strong case for consideration.
