" My gt gt gt grandfather was Presley Arnold Sanford, who was born about 1801 VA and died during the Civil War at Murfreesboro, Tennessee on December 2, 1862. I believe he is a brother to a Meredith Sanford, who died in Franklin County February 18, 1855. His parents were John and Nancy Sanford. I suspect that one of the women who married Sanford's was an Arnold mainly due to the fact that Presley's middle name was Arnold. I also suspect that John Sanford was the son of a John P. Sanford, who died in Franklin County December 14, 1840. His wife was Ann M., however, I don't known her maiden name. "
