Hello, I am searching for my husbands Sanford/Sandford/Samford line and cant get past his great great grandfather Ruffus Alexander Sanford who was born 1854 in Shelby County and married Joanna Jane Eaves. He is lost to us after 1909, we believe he died, and his burial place is unknown to me at this time. Shelby County Roots Web just added another section to their website, the Mexican War 1st and 2nd Texas Mounted Volunteers. On the list of the 2nd TMV I find a Name: Sanford, Thomas Pvt. Enrolled: Shelbyville Company D, May 21, 1846 Remarks: For six months Can anyone identify Thomas and give me a list of his children? I am grasping at straws here, so I could be way off base, BUT I keep hoping that eventually I will grab the right thing :) Thanks for any help you can give Michelle Byerly Jasper, Texas
