Does anyone believe there is a family connection between the Samford family descended from James Samford, NorthFarnham, Richmond, VA. and the Thomas Sanford family of Mass. Given names in both lines are quite similar. Both families were in different counties of VA. James died 1703 in Richmond Co. VA. Believed to have been born about 1624, some say Northumberland VA. Married Mary __________. Children were Thomas, Mary, Samuel, Alicia, and Catherine. Some say that he had a brother named Thomas Samford. I am interested in your thoughts and/or suppositions, if any.
