    2. I would like to correspond with anyone working on SANDFORDS in southern NY, especially in Cattaragus County. I have Unknown (Arvilla? Elvira? Mary? Jennie?) Sanford "of NY" married to Thomas KNAPP "of VT" and they had 3 children in Stockbridge, Windsor County, VT: Charles Sumner b 1807, Arvilla b 1810, and Chandler Stevens b 1812. They moved back to Cattaragus County sometime after that, but were in Michigan by 1820. I do have a lot of info on these 3 siblings, almost nothing on the parents. ANY help, suggestions, advice on these parents would be very appreciated! TIA Sharon

    3. Hi Marion, The only Sanford that I have found that might be Gideon's Sanford's father is Benjamin Sanford. He is listed in the 1800 Census in Rensselaer County, NY.     3. Hello All, Gideon SANFORD (1809-1881) and Julia Ann Van SLYKE (1826-1912) had 5 children. They were all born in Fulton County, NY and are all buried in the Broadalbin Cem. They are: Alice SANFORD (1861-1948). She married Henry B. SANFORD (1859-1935) Lois SANFORD (1852-1953). She married Milton W. CHASE (1857-1916) Mary E. SANFORD (1863-1935). She married James H. LASHER (1860-1919) Benjamin SANFORD (1856-1927). He married Ada Elizabeth BROWN (1862-1951) Charles SANFORD (1860) Does anyone have any information on any of these families? Richard
