My GG Grandfather/Mother were from Jackson County, Ohio which is just across the border from WV. His name was Horiz Sanford and had a son, William who emmigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah about 1865. I cannot find any trace of these Sanfords in Ohio. Do these names sound familiar? Susan

What records I've found indicate that my Sanfords came from SC, but I don't know where. By the time anyone I know about came along, they were in Pickens Co., GA. My gr gr grandfather, Noel Sanford, and his parents, Hezekiah and Dolly Jane Latham Sanford, were there as early as 1850. Hezekiah and Dolly are buried in Crossroads Baptist Cemetery in Elijay, Gilmer Co, GA. Children were John F., born in Texas in l849; Safhrona I., bl858 in Texas and George T., bl862 in Texas. There are others from the GILLIAM or GILLIM family in this cemetery also.
