In my previous message I said: "In 1910 Narcissus is still shown as Funderburk and divorced, but since her daughter is a nee Sanford aged 22, we must assume that Narcissus Nunnery Funderburk was married to a Sanford for at least 22 years." I should have said that Narcissus Nunnery Funderburk was married to a Sanford at least 22 years ago . . . so sometime between 1880 and 1888. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I have just found my great great grandmother, Narcissus Nunnery in the 1910 Gibson County, Tennessee census. She is living on Monroe Avenue, Milan, Tennessee with her daughter and son-in-law, Emma Sanford Wadley and Columbus Wadley (Wadly). The last I saw of Narcissus Nunnery was in the 1880 Pemiscot County, Missouri census. She was married to Robert Funderburk and had two children: Neacy Ann Funderburk and Miah Funderburk. In 1910 Narcissus is still shown as Funderburk and divorced, but since her daughter is a nee Sanford aged 22, we must assume that Narcissus Nunnery Funderburk was married to a Sanford for at least 22 years. Narcissus is buried in Martin Cemetery, Gibson County, Tennessee as: SANFORD, Narcissus b. 6/6/1852 d. 12/27/1922. Can anyone tell me the name of the Sanford to whom Narcissus was married? Were they married in Pemiscot County, Missouri or in Gibson County, Tennessee? When and where were they divorced? Was the ex-husband still living in 1910? Thank you for any information. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail is new and improved - Check it out! http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail

Hello, I am new to the list. I have been diligently collecting any and all information I can on the descendants of Walker James L. Sanford (June 3, 1797-bet 1886-1900) and Sarah "Sallie" Brumfield (1791-bef 1880). This family was born in Orange Co., VA and migrated to the Cabell Co. area of West Virginia (prior to WV statehood) and scattered throughout WV and Ohio. He had several sons and two daughters as follows: Marine Sanford (1819-?) _____ Sanford (abt 1821-?) female Vanlindon Sanford (1823-1901) Dicey Sanford (1826-1904) William D. Sanford (1827-bet 1910-1920) Robert B. Sanford (abt 1830-bef 1901) Henry Clay Sanford (1833-1916) James L. Sanford (1834-bef 1901) George W. Sanford (abt 1840-bef 1901) I have spouses for all but the unknown daughter, and children for most. I am now searching for anecdotal information regarding their lives and ministry. All of the men but Marine were involved in various aspects of Methodist Church ministry as Circuit Riders, preachers, Sunday School superintendants and the like. Marine was a merchant in Hamilin, Cabell Co., WV. Dicey married a Griffith. I believe that the L. in James and Walker's names stands for Ludwell or Leudwell (I've seen both spellings) as William D. named one of his sons Emery L. and he appears in a later census as Leudwell. Ludwell was a surname on the Grymes family side. Walker was the son of Robert Sanford and Hannah Grymes. I am also seeking information regarding grandchildren of the families above and where they have all settled. James left WV to do ministry in the Ohio Conference. Emery L. died young and three of his teenaged children left WV to move to Ohio to live with their mother's (Nora Perry) sister, Emma Burdette in Cincinnati. The other three children remained with their mother or had already passed away by then. I am in the process of researching these families in order to write an historical novel based on their lives. If you know of any photographs, property locations, journals, diaries, letters, etc. Please contact me. If you would like pedigree and descendant information please contact me with specific questions and I will try to help. Jean Clark Caudill Ambridge, PA Calicemsalutaris@aol.com

Am looking for any info. on Cynthia SANFORD-SANDFORD who supposedly married an Ephraim WINTHROP, both born in Rhode Island. Ephraim supposedly died abt. 1897 in St. Louis, MO and Cynthia died in 1904 in St.Louis. A Their son, Paul LeRoy WINTHROP, born 6 Nov 1890 in Providence, RI--gives this information on his parents in his death certificate in 1939 in Hannibal, MO and his WWI military records. He had a brother named Archie Sanford WINTHROP, b. abt 1892 I've checked many RI Records: census, city directories, various Internet sites, etc. and found no mention at all of this couple. I read through every Sanford family in the 1870 RI Census and again no Cynthia Sanford. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, Renee __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! There was one Absolum W. SANFORD (Absolum, Absoleum, and various spellings I have found) who was born ca 1825 in Tennessee (perhaps Sumner Co). This Absolum SANFORD married Isabella BROWN (b 1832 England) and he died 1870 in New Orleans, LA. Descendants of his siblings did move to Texas and Oklahoma. pam
