Does anyone have information on the children of Althea Sanford and William Lusk or any other Lusk/ Sanford connections? The Sanford surname appears in my Lusk families but I have been unable to make a connection. The Lusk family was in Pennsylvania in the 1840's and possibly there was a Sanford connection a little earlier in Vermont. Would appreciate hearing from you! Karen

Seeking any information on Col. Charles Ogburn SANFORD. Col. SANFORD was the namesake of Sanford, NC (founded abt. 1874). Very little is known about Col. SANFORD. He was apparently a surveyor at the time Sanford was founded, and may be buried in Savannah, GA, but not among others of the SANFORD surname. Any assistance will be appreciated. Alvis B. Caswell Polk SANFORD, Sr., was born ca 1778 allegedly somewhere in NC. I have learned that there is a community called Polk within Caswell County, NC. That struck me as interesting. Can anyone affirm whether there were SANFORD's in that part of NC duing the mid to late 1700's? I need to establish the names of Caswell's parents as well as any siblings. David

I recently posted a list of deaths in Shelby County from the Shelby County Courthouse. I need to make a correction on the date of George Crittenton Samford's death. It should read 24 Aug 1929 instead of 24 Aug 1926. I was checking on something and ran across his obituary that was in "The Champion" newspaper, dated Aug 28, 1929. They list his death as 24 Aug 1929. Sorry for the mistake - I either copied it wrong or it was typed wrong in the index at the courthouse. Thanks, Shirley Holmquist
