Does anyone have any info on these two? I think I descend from one of their sons. Robert San(d)ford who married Ann Adams. I descend Robert and Ann Adams San(d)ford's daughter Elizabeth who married Joseph Collier. Don't have much info on this, except from the history of Jeremy Adams. Any leads, or info would be appreciated. Ann

Dear Sanford Searchers, who may be our cousins, 'Richard SANFORD to Robert SANFORD, in 15 generations'. My direct line of ancestry is shown below, to show this SANFORD family line. The record from Richard Sanford of Stanstead, Essex, England in the early 1500's, to one of my grandsons, Robert M. Sanford, WA. Much of this for ten gens. is covered with much detail, in the two vol. work, "Thomas Sanford, Emigrant to New England, Anc., Life, and descendants, 1632-4 etc." written by Carlton Sanford, and pub. 1911. These books are in many libraries now, and many more can get a microfilm of the books on loan. Good records, in the form of "Pedigree Charts", is available at LDS Family History Centers in Ancestral files. Hope this information is useful to you, in the search for SANFORD records, that you can use to develop your own family data. I hope to hear from you, if you think there is a possible connection to any part of this SANFORD line. My records are available on these families, and on some details more recent to this date, but there are still blanks in some 'family groups', and the ancestors of the wives that married into this SANFORD family. We would like to see your own 'direct line', because it is interesting to many, and spurs discussion among those who have done past research, and who have kept some serious SANFORD family records. I already have received over sixty 'Direct Line' records from many of our living cousins, and do not need those again. We only wish to add others that have not already shared information with us. Happy to hear from you and see YOUR direct line for at least a few generations. John Sanford ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Descendant Record of my direct line, John D. To Whom... I do believe that there is a connection. I have the connection through the marriage of Anna Sanford, daughter of Samuel and Ruhanna (Rumahah) Wheeler Sanford, to Wales Chapman. That marriage, I believe took place in Anna's hometown of Weston, Conn. The tree has been researched back to Ezekiel Sanford the first. At the moment I have the papers elsewhere and cannot give any more details. Except, I know that the Sanford line goes back to approx. 1533 in Haddam (Spelling?) England. Is that a connection? Could someone clarify something for me, please. On the 1860 US Census of Shelby County, Texas, page 411, Dwelling 326, Family 326, Beat 6, Graham's Mill Post Office, dated 19 July 1860, there is a family listed as shown: Joab Sanford, age 21, male, farmer, worth $___/$150, born in AL Tempa Sanford, age 19, female, born in AL Masel (Moses) Sanford, age 7, male, born in AL S. H. Sanford, age 3, male, born in AL M. Sanford, age 27, male, farm laborer, born in TX George Sanford, male, farm laborer, born in AL Is this Joab Samford, son of Elkanah and Mary Magdaline Weaver, married to America Frances Mills. If so, who is M. Sanford and George Sanford. Would appreciate hearing from someone who can solve this puzzle. Thanks.......Shirley Holmquist
Ann, I am a descendant of Ann Sanford and Jacob Ramey. I am new to collection inforamtion oon the Ssnfords too(I descend from two of Robert's children). Robert was born about 1640 in England married Anna Smith. They had 6 children 1 Dau., Ann and 5 sons William Thomas , Richard, Robert and John. Anna out- lived her husband but that is aboot what I have on them. if you get any further info please keep me in mind. What is your connection to Jacob & Ann? Some of your info may be incorrect. Jacob (II), who married Ann Sanford, died in 1727 in Westmoreland County. Ann had re-married Richard Omohundro by 1735 when she and her brother Robert were named in suit brought by the heirs of their brother John. She died in Loudoun in 1763 naming only her son William Ramey in her will( will dated 1752 but probated 1763). There were 6 other children. The Jacob Ramey (III) who died in 1787 in Loudoun County was Ann and Jacob's(II) son and he married a woman by the first name of Sarah( may be a widow Fryer or nee Mauldin). I have quite a bit of information on him since I descend from their son Jacob (IV). Hope that this helps. Susan
