I just started a home page and I have a picture of my Grandmother Elsie Marjory (Sanford) Reeves the address to the page is http://www.willinet.net/~lreeves/Family/family.html if anyone is interested. Thanks Larry Reeves
Sandie, What is the address of your web site? For new SANFORD searchers, here are a couple of other SANFORD web pages: http://www.bementfamily.com/report3a.htm (don't let title throw you off - I was able to connect my ENTIRE branch of the SANFORDs here!) http://www.rootsweb.com/~softbear/sanford.html#thomas1 http://www.genforum.com/sanford/ http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/4453/
Hi Everyone I want to thank everyone who have sent and will send corrections to the site. It will be a while until all the adjustments and corrections are done so please have patience. I would like to suggest that if you have corrections or updates you would like to make this would a good time to submit them. I would appreciate your sources also. It is very hard to make decisions on which information to post as primary if I don't have something to go by. Thanks so much Sandie
In reply to request to post what I have on SANFORDS--I really sort of hate to do it as I am so confused with what I have found in different places. And I am sure I am writing it up in a confusing manner. (Trying to teach an old woman new computer and genealogy tricks is a real chore). What I have on the Ohio Sanfords is at this point a lot of confusion. (Supposedly) from a Sanford Bible at a reunion somewhere in Ohio in 1980, the following was copied: (If anyone has this information, would welcome any corrections or additions). SANFORD, Beers b. 1845, m. 27 Aug 1864. (Emma BALLOU). Father, Samuel SANFORD, Mother Sarah GREEN In a Medina County History book, Beers came from New York to Medina County in 1832 and his father was Lemuel SANFORD) The Bible notes shows their children as Elzie v. Jun 1869 and Tom b. Jun 1899 (more confusion). The Medina History Book shows one of their children, Darius B. and Beers" wife as Rachel Akerly. It states that Beers father was LEMUEL SANFORD. (I have been told Lemuel is my ancestor) Then there is a Samuel S. SANFORD, b. 8 Nov 1817, Steuben Co., NY. d. 24 Nov 1899, Chatham, Medina, Ohio, Wife Sarah GREEN, b. 19 Oct 1816, Steuben Co., NY d. 19 Mar 1900, Chatham, Medina, Ohio. Children: Larins W., Beers and a daughter d. Infancy. Stephen H. SANFORD, b. 25 May 1823, Green, Chenango Co., NY, d. 19 Apr 1887, Clinton Co., Michigan, m. Nov 1844, Medina Co., OH. Wife: Rachel GREEN, b. 11 Jun 1826, Seneca Co., NY, d. 7 Dec 1903. Children; Emulous J. Lois C., Silas D., Anna, Albert H., Andrew S., Rachael Leona, Mary Almina. I have not found yet what the connection of these people to Lemuel J. SANFORD, d. 7 Apr 1895, Wife Louisa ROGERS (?). His father (?) L. P. Sanford, d. 23 Nov 1842. My great grandmother was Sarah L. SANFORD (Inman, Cole). According to a tombstone listing in the "Whispers of the Past" from Medina County, this information cannot be correct so, I AM REALLY AT A LOSS in tracing Sarah's past. So far, I haven't been able to get her death certificate from Ohio--it is not listed in the Index apparently. I have from one source that she died in 1912 and one 1915. I have been trying to contact some living SANFORDs in Medina County with no luck so far. I realize this information is very confusing. If anyone has any information which may straighten it out, I would be very thankful. I have found many of these names in Ohio Censuses thru 50+ years but can't find any connection. I do realize that these books cannot be taken as gospel.
I'm looking for information on Evan Sanford, born about 1820 in Alabama, died in Ouachita Parish, LA on unknown date. He married Elizabeth Walters and moved to LA probably between 1845 and 1854. They had at least five children, all born in LA. I would like to hear from anyone researching this family and would especially like any information on Evan's parents, place and date of birth, etc. Thanks, Julia Taylor Healey
I tried to write to RMolin in answer to the forwarded request and mail was 'refused' as incorrect address. If you will email me, I will give you what I have on New York Sanfords. LolaMann [email protected]

My maiden is Robinson, and I have been searching for years and am hoping that maybe my great grandmother's line could be a lead! They were married in Steuben Co. NY, and only know they spent their lives between Steuben, possibly Otsego, Chenango, and Broome Counties. They are buried in Ninevah, NY. Any help is certainly appreciated! Thanks so much for your time and I look forwrad to hearing from you. My email address is below. Anne in Kent, WA [email protected] --part0_900571061_boundary--

Charles Peterson, Try the National Library of Canada in Ottawa. I found a copy of the President John Sanford book there, so they might have a copy of "Sanford Family of Newtown, Connecticut, in Old and New England". You don't need any more address than "National Library of Canada, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada", Genealogy Section. Regards, Ken Sanford
Does anyone have a copy of William Atwater Sanford's book "Sanford Family of Newtown, Connecticut, in Old and New England" (printed 1905)? I can identify only two libraries which list the book in their catalog and NEITHER (Buffalo, New York; and the Library of Congress) can locate the volume on their shelves. The LOC has the book listed in their on-line catalog of microfilms, but says it was never microfilmed! Is there some other library which acquired a copy of this book? I have the book "Sanfords Since the Civil War' which is a listing of the Social Security Death Master Files up to 1994. Anyone that wants a free lookup can visit my home page at: Sanford Family Homepage http://members.aol.com/Scotchy2/index.html Sign the guestbook, leave your name and email address and the Sanford to lookup. I will email you back with the information if they had a Social Security number. This also shows date of birth and death and state of death. Please Do Not email me for this. I am on 4 major mailing lists and get tons & tons of email. The guestbook gives me a central location to do this all at once ( and not on my server). Pam (Scotchy2)
