    1. Sandidge Cemetery Info in Hardin County

    3. To those interested in the surname "Sandidge". 10 years ago I was searching for my own long lost family cemetery and thought I stumbled onto it when one day I found this old cemetery back into the woods a little on a privately owned farm, about 2 miles or so outside of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This cemetery was "Lost", I contacted the Ancestral Trails folks I knew and between us, nobody had previously recorded this cemetery. I gave them the information I have, but I do not recollect seeing it in any of the cemetery books since then. A couple of names in the cemetery are: James Sandidge and Matilda his wife, and on another stone is a Matilda Hocker, same dates as the other stone. There is also a John Kennedy buried here. There were quite a few graves as indicated by the depressions in the ground, but very few stones were visible above ground. Probing seem to identify some buried underground but because of the weather (Cold) and my having my own cemetery to look for, I didn't work too long on this place. I have the dates and info from the few stones visible, a have a couple of pictures of the cemetery (black & white), and can provide a fairly detailed direction to get there. Also during my own research, I have found some deeds mentioning these same people and I think I still have copies. If anybody is interested, I can provide copies of what I have via e-mail. I hope this helps out someone. If anybody has found any "Geoghegan" surnames in their research, I would appreciate hearing about it.
