    3. Dear Group, Thank you for the replies to my questions. Because I cannot yet find a "front door" to solve my Sandidge mysteries I have had to resort to "collateral" back doors. It has worked well in the past. I would like to take time to say that I subscribe to several surname lists but the Sandidge list has some the most fascinating interplay. I loved the Ann Pulliam/Ann Taylor debate. Of course the historical info that Kim Moore presented was great. So like I have said, I am a little envious of the "tight" family histories you have. But I am certain that I will find the connection. And no, my connection to the Sandidge family will not be as direct as most of you. Josephine, I saw one interesting name in the family group you listed. It was Charles Clayton Sandidge. The Clayton name shows up in IL with one of Robert Sandidge's children marrying a Clayton. Coincidence perhaps, but I still follow up on these things. I was also wondering if anyone does follow-up on the collateral lines to Sandidge. For instance, I have an Ann Coleman who married John Yates, abt 1785 in Caroline, VA. I am curious if this might be the same family from which Patience Coleman came. The only marriage I have found into the Sandidge family from the Yates is the Isaac P. Yates to Mary Wood Sandidge marriage. The interesting fact here is that Isaac Yates' mother was Susannah Wood. So then I wonder if Susannah is a sibling of Mary "Molly" Wood who married John Sandidge. And so it goes..... Thanks for listening. If anyone has done collateral line work please let me know. And if it is something that is not suitable for this discussion group please contact me privately through my e-mail. Richard Sergeant
