Hi All, just had a call from a RAY researcher - He told me all abt "Soldiers Joy" - he said there was an old cemetery behind the house with a lot of Higginbotham graves - he mentioned John 1772-1822; JESSIE 1779-1836 and Daniel 1781-1845. Samuel Jordan CABELL built house 1784 - land belonged to RAY. He descends from Moses Ray > Luke Ray m. ? Higginbotham. Also Geo W. RAY m. Patsy SANDIDGE. Thomas Ray in Buckingham, VA John Ray b 1775 in Greenbrier, WVA m. 1799 >OH >1832 to MO d. 1862. Says they are Rays are connected to CASH & to Tamasia Higginbotham who m. Robert Howard Cash. He talked to Billy Sandidge. He said it is a lovely place.
