Bold notes are my editorial explanations. Oldest mentioned names appear to be children of William Sandidge and Tamasin Higginbotham. Many names appear to be children of Dudley Sandidge and Belinda Smith. Glad to share identifying info if anyone wants it. Note by Library of Virginia Staff, handwritten on back page: "Private Papers, Organization, Daughters of the American Revolution Collection, Sandidge Family Bible, 1786-1883, Accession # 22676 (item 21)" Cover page, centered in middle of page, followed by note at bottom of page: "Copy of Photostatic Copy of Record in the Family Bible of William Lee Sandidge Lynchburg Virginia "Copied and checked by Eula G. Spurlock (Mrs. J. A.) and Josephine Yeatman for Lynchburg Chapter, D. A. R., March, 1945, while Mrs. John H. Hoskins served as State Chairman of Committee of Genealogical Records, Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution, 1945-1946." Second Page: page is in two columns, one marriages and one births: "Taken from a photostatic copy of Family Record in a Bible which belonged to William Lee Sandidge of Lynchburg, Virginia, who was born in Amherst county, across James River from Lynchburg and where his family had lived for several preceding generations. "Marriages Richard P. Sandidge was married to Mag Sprouse Sept. 24, 1876. Regina M. Sandidge was married to Enoch P. Jefferies April 13th, 1823. Mary Elizabeth Sandidge was married to Jacob Woodson October 29th, 1850. Verrazani Florentine Sandidge, born June the 23 in 1833." [See note below.] "Sarah F. Sandidge was married to Edward P. Evans April 6th, 1859. Isabella M. Sandidge was married to David S. Woodson September, 1859. Christopher C. Sandidge was married to Susan C. Woodson on Tuesday 20 of December, 1859. V. F. Sandidge was married to Mary E. Lee August the 7, 1860. "Births Christopher C. Sandidge was born June 24, 1821. Valentine F. Sandidge was Born June 23th, 1833." Note about above: the misplaced reference to birth of "Verrazani Florentine Sandidge" among the marriages must be a mistaken reference to the birth of "Valentine F. Sandidge" shown on same page in second column also quoted above. Don't know if error was in original or in DAR copying. Third page: also in two columns, first births and then deaths: "BIRTHS Florentine N. Sandidge, the daughter of V. F. and Mary E. Sandidge was born July 21 th 1861. William L. Sandidge, the son of V. F. Sandidge and Mary E. Sandidge was born December 24, 1863." "DEATHS Richard P. Smith died January 21, 1851. Seaton B. Sandidge departed this life October 23th, 1858. Dudley Sandidge departed this life December 16, 1860. William D. Sandidge departed this life December 16th, 1861. Mary E. Sandidge, the wife of V. F. Sandidge, departed this life December 30th, 1863. Mrs. Sallie F. Evans departed this life October the 25th, 1864. Christopher C. Sandidge departed this life (at the Military Hospital in the City of Richmond) on the 11th day of October, 1863.
