Randy -- what was the date on that message? The reason I ask is I also get these but have not received any attachments OR anything with even that name coming from the Sandidge-l list. I am saying this so others on the list understand that the list itself did not send it to you. This would have come from someone who has YOU in their addressbook. (may be friend or acquaintance or even a work-related acquaintance) Very similar to the Melissa Macro Virus of past if anyone wants to read about how this works -- go to some area that specializes in viruses and read away. They go by different names, and the macro virus itself will even change the name of the .exe file!!! This is actually not a virus but a macro that attaches itself to a person's system, copies things from a filters and other places (news and lists are 2 places) and uses these name of filters and lists, etc. will add to a message and then using your address book will send a copy of this macro to everyone in your addressbook as an attachment. It is almost always (but not exclusive of) IBM PC-compatible computers and the Office (Word, etc) products. Persons not using the newer versions of Windows (95 thru 2000) are usually not affected. Persons not using the Microsoft office products are usually not affected. Words of advice -- 1) set your programs up so that they DO NOT automatically execute ANY executable files!!! 2) use a virus scanner on ALL files prior to executing them 3) execute only things you know that has come from a reliable source and then ONLY after you have virus scanned it; 4) a list WILL NEVER send an attachment to anyone!!! This in itself should have warned you there was DANGER!!! Hope something I have stated here will help someone else.
