    3. Jan and other persons who may not get internet but only has email -- my apologies if I mention to go somewhere on the internet -- I forget that over half of most list(s) persons don't have internet access, but only email. Jan, if you don't have internet access then contact me and I will give you that social security death numbers you may want for Pearl and her son; same with anything else I may mention in a message and refer to a specific address on internet. Everyone else -- my apologies again -- if any of you don't have internet access and don't have access to an LDS library just let me know and I will look up social security death stuff for you. I try not to advertise that I will do it, but you on this list are not great in number and I will help you if I can. Unfortunately I cannot afford the newer disks and mine were issued in 1995 and I think has some 1995 deaths on it but most are 1994 and before. While talking about the social security death index cds -- for the newbies on this list let me stress that the first state is NOT place of birth, but only where they were living at the time of issuance, and in some instances the nearest office. For example, #1 my brother was born VA, but living in San Antonio, TX when he got his card so it shows TX as the first state after his date of birth; example #2 my father's relatives were living in Wheeling, WVA but theirs all show OH as OH was the nearest social security office at the time; Another thing is that if a person did not receive social security (farmers, civil service workers, etc) they will NOT be listed UNLESS they were eligible and someone collected that last $225 check. Also the state showing after date of death is ALSO not 100% accurate for where they were living and/or died. example #3 one of my relatives lived in WVA, died in WashDC but it shows last check in OH -- this is because they had never received any checks from social security prior to their death, they died in WashDC while at a funeral of a friend, and the last check of the $255 went to their descendant who lived in OH. Although all of the above is NOT Sandidge or sic related -- it is very important for all the newbies to understand this and why sometimes their ancestors did not show up on this list although they DID pay into social security.
