    3. Not proven, but an old genealogist (she is in late 90's now and haven't gotten response to my letters as to WHERE she found this info) told me that John, b ca 1666 england and d 1708 New Kent VA (your #1) was son of (Col) James Thomas Sandwich, b ca 1620 England -- said that James went by Thomas and James both in records she found.(sure wish I knew WHAT records those were and where they are located........) Said that your #1 John Sandidge had wife #2 Kathleen Pendleton and his first wife was Mary Vaughn. Mentions a son of his William baptized Jul 10, 1698 New Kent Co, VA St. Peter's Parish and this would be your #2 on list. She told me that John and Mary Vaughn also had son Thomas Sanbige, b 1691 New Kent Co, VA or Albemarle/Spotsylvania Cos in VA and spouse of Frances Choppell/Chappelle who you also show as your #2 and Thomas' son as #3 Nathan. But so far I have never PROVEN any of this and also seek the proof that Thomas and Mary Vaughn are parents of Nathan. It is said that Thomas and Frances (Choppell) Sanbige/Sandidge moved from VA to SC and this ALSO I am trying to find info on -- where in SC did they move, and who are the other children that they had, when and where did they die, etc. I really doubt that this person listed in book is the Thomas who married Frances Choppell, and if willed to him he would have been 17 years old and this would have been after his father John died 1708. I still haven't figured out where they got this 1701 since the quote didn't say anything about this being date of land transfers in the book......... Now John had to have come from England AFTER 1666 timeframe since this is when he was supposed to have been born in England -- and yet nothing I find anywhere shows that his father James (Thomas) actually stayed in England -- for all we know his father aka Thomas may have come to VA with John and may be the Thomas mentioned in this land grant if the actual date really IS 1701. Of course many times grandchildren DO get land upon death of a grandfather, so who is to say that this was not land that James Thomas Sandwich may have owned (if he came to America too). Just making assumptions and talking "out loud" my thoughts as I have been trying to prove this stuff for 35 years........ As for the Thomas and Frances' child being in civil war -- I really doubt this since this is around 100 years!!! after Nathan was said to have been born (ca 1754) and I believe it is said that Thomas and Frances also had another son, William (again haven't proven the children of Thomas and Frances and still seeking all their names) who also was supposed to have been born around the same timeframe -- so it is VERY UNLIKELY that this is the SAME Thomas and Frances' child who was in civil war. War of 1812 or even Rev War would have been more like it, so this is probably ANOTHER Thomas and Frances. Just my 2cents worth and HOPING in my lifetime that someone finds proof of Nathan's parents really being Thomas and Frances (Choppell), and getting proof of all our older ancestors back to England, Ireland, Scotland or WHEREVER they came from......
