Does anyone have any records handy for South Carolina? I am trying to find the census readings for Union Co SC -- I have the 1790 one and 1800 but trying to find more about Nathan Sandidge/Sandage/Sandredge (and sic -- even showed as Savage one time I believe) who was son of Nathan Sandage, Sr. b ca 1754 (mentioned in previous post) whose wife was Mary Canady/Kenedy. It is said that he was on the 1840 census still in Union co, SC and went by name of Sandredge/Sandridge -- would like someone to send me the readings from the 1810 thru 1860 census readings for him (and any of his children you find). Also seeking the land transfers/sales/willed in Union Co, SC. In Nathan's will it showed he left the following land to his 3 sons and his "beloved wife, Mary": "100 acres of the land on which they lived and 100 acres adjoining their land and David Stuart's land up the creek" and 25 acres "adjoining the plantation whereon I now live on one side -- the other side adjoining George Hope." After she died their son Thomas was to have the "100 acres joining David Stuart's", son Nathan was to have the land "on the south side of Cane Creek joining land held by Simon Creech, Peter Hegpeth and John Boolare(d)" and to son Moses he was to get "the plantation whereon I now live". (this will recorded Apr 5, 1819 Union Co, SC Union Wills Vol 2 Book B page 70D,1C(1)) Now if they had land when he died then Mary the wife or the 3 children had to have disposed of land in some manner at some time (unless it is STILL in the Sandage hands which I really doubt) -- I would LOVE to find some old maps in 1800's of that area showing who the owners are (this would give us a timeframe of before or after map of whether the Sandages sold, willed, etc. land to someone else so we could look for sale, will, etc. before or after that date. I live in Ohio and do not have access to these old maps, land transfer/sale deeds or wills in SC If anyone lives in SC or has access to any books or microfilms or to the records themselves -- would LOVE to find out anything about this land. Thanks in advance; hoping someone can help me with the census and land issues, Judy M. jmurphy@erinet.com Judith Sandage Murphy P.O.Box 1333 Fairborn, OH 45324-1333
