State of Virginia, Albemarle County Deed Book 1764 - 1768 p. 374 "This indenture made on the () day of () in 176()between David Watts the Elder of the County of Albemarle of one part and William Watson of the same County of other part Witnesseth that said David Watts in consideration of said William Watsons marriage with his the sd David Watts Daughter doth give unto said William Watson & his heirs a parcel of land in Albemarle containing as he supposes about Two hundred acres of land & bounded beginning at a supposed line being a corner white oak & red oak on Gidion Carrs line, thence along Carrs line to a corner red oak between Carr & WILLIAM SANDAGE thence along SANDAGEs line to a corner red oak and white oak between Watts, William Hammock & SANDAGE thence along Hammocks line to the beginning. In presence of Thomas Carr, David Watts, John Walker, Abraham Wood at Albemarle April Court 1767. This Indecture was acknowledged by David Watts party thereto & ordered to be recorded." p 384-387. A couple years ago when I was researching in Virginia-land I found the following that mentions Thomas Sanadge (Sandage?): It is from "Cavaliers & Pioneers" Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents & Grants, Patent Book # 9, Page 55: CHICHELEY CORBIN THACKER, 3080 acs., K. & Q. Co., in Pamunkey Neck; 12 Nov. 1701/2, p. 427. Beg. in Darrell's line; to Perry's Sw; near North Wales Path; by runn of the up. Herring Cr; to Mr. Whitehead's line, & c. Trans. of 62 pers: ............THOMAS SANADGE Could this possibly be Thomas as of Thomas & Frances Chappell? What do you think? I do have the names of the other 61 persons, if anyone thinks they need it.

William Sandage b: Nov. 8, 1835, Father: Moses Sandage, Tobin Twp., Perry, In and Mother: Sarah Harding. William Canidy Sandage b: May 11, 1813. Father: Thomas Sandage. Mother: Nancy Simonson. Moses Sandage (born 1805) and William Canidy Sandage (born 1813) are brothers and the children of Thomas Sandage (1776) and Nancy Simonson Sandage (ca1780). Thomas Sandage (1776) is a son of Nathan Sandige and Mary Canady/Kennedy. I wonder if the William "Canidy" Sandage got his middle name from his grandmother's maiden name??? The best I can piece together from reading the past messages is that Nathan Sandidge b: about 1754 (married Mary Canady/Kennedy) is the son of Thomas Sandage b: 1691 (wife Frances Chappell) however, I'm confused on the dates. If Thomas and Frances married in 1712 and we assume they are about 20 years of age and Nathan is born about 1754, doesn't that make his parents TOO OLD?? Nathan must have been born much earlier? Does anyone know? Nathan and Mary Canady Sandage: The only confirmed dates I have for them is that he died between 1800 and 1819 and that one of three known sons, Thomas above, was born in 1776. I think we have assumed Nathan's age based on Thomas 1776 birth but evidently Nathan and Mary had earlier children and that Thomas (1776) was a late in marriage baby???? Another subject: Your November 1997 message re Marriages in England from LDS Library, you mentioned information on the "Manor of Sandridge" and "The Ancient Town and Port of Sandwich". Joel and his second wife (Susan) were the parents of two of my great grandfathers, Alfred Wood Sandridge and Dabney Lewis Sandridge. I found this on the microfiche in the Richmond geneological library and also heard it word of mouth from my grandfather (Henry Harrison Sandridge, Sr.) who told me some of these things before he passed away. I got some of my info from elderly relatives, but it has been backed up by documentation. My line is so intertwined because everyone married their cousin or their spouse's brother or sister. My distant relative Earl Marshall, a descendant of Dillard had these people "sealed" to protect his marriage in the Morman Church. I will try to find Earl's address although I think he has moved and his son, David Epperson Marshall had just been born. This child was named after Dillard's father-in-law David Epperson, Jr. who was killed at Valley Forge when Hannah, his daughter and Dillard's wife was only two or three years old. I WANT TO PROVE THIS ALSO AS I AM APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Also, an ancestor of Dillard's (Mrs. Mary Frances Sandridge Cleveland) was in "Colonial Dames" as a result of this David Epperson. She lived in Anaheim California and is now deceased. Was there a shipping list that we could check someplace? The source I had originally said that Col James and his son John landed in King and Queen County in 1650. But the internet has John not born until 1676. This seems right unless he became a parent as an older man. Did you know about the possibility of the Sandridge family in England descending down to the Spencer family and Princess Diana? I also have the Spencers linked through the Maupin family that I am descended from. Also from the Maupin family is a link to Colin Powell. OF COURSE, WE CAN ALL TRACE OUR FAMILYS BACK TO ADAM AND EVE IF WE TRY HARD ENOUGH. It gets more fascinating as it goes along. I still like what you said about folks asking about a large family reunion. The Maupin family has one in Williamsburg every Labor Day Weekend.
