I believe the company was founded by the Sandford family, who also resided in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois. The family may have also owned a carrige manufacturing company too. John Sandford b. 1864 in Canada worked there as a machinist/slot machine manufacturer in 1930. His wife's name was Johanna (Hannah) Sandford.
