Dear List members I rarely do this (in fact never saw the need to before) but I a word of caution to all of about a very real virus called Badtrans Worm. The reason I am posting this is, although attachments are filtered out on the list, so that you cannot receive any, this particular virus works by going through the infected computer's mailbox and sending replies to any unanswered emails. Since your email addy is on your post, and many of the lists are set to "reply to sender" you get a reply and it can appear as if it is coming from the list. Keep in mind that the person probably isn't aware that their computer is infected -- no one is sending out these on purpose. In the reply email it will say at the end "Look at this file." The attachment has a ".pif" extension with several different names - so really watch out for anything *.pif It comes to you as an attachment so remember Rule #1 - DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENT FROM SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW and because this particular virus comes as a reply, often from someone you do know, Rule #2 - DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENT FROM SOMEONE YOU DO KNOW AND WERE NOT EXPECTING.
